Speech Information

In this class you will be working on two different types of speeches:

  • An informative speech requiring at least 5 sources of credible information from within the past 3 years and a visual aid. The sources will need to be cited orally during the speech and listed in their full-content outlines in APA format. The visual aid must be large (no smaller than 8.5" x 11") and take up a sizable poster/foam board.

  • A persuasive speech on a controversial topic requiring at least 6 sources of credible information from within the past 3 years. The sources will need to be cited orally during the speech and listed in their full-content outlines in APA format.

Speech Information

In this class you will be working on two different types of speeches:

  • The oral interpretation of literature will require students to find any material to perform (i.e., films, plays, poetry, prose, etc.) and memorize the material prior to performance. Students are required to make a single social argument using the material they will be performing in class.

  • The platform speech (informative or a persuasive on a controversial topic) will require at least 8-10 sources of credible information and a visual aid. The sources will need to be cited orally during the speech and listed in their full-content outlines in APA format. The visual aid must be large (no smaller than 8.5" x 11") and take up a sizable poster/foam board.
